The Origin Story
It started in Chad’s driveway.
The Dad Bod League was established in 2025 in Chad’s driveway, late at night, when a simple 3-on-3 basketball challenge accidentally became a league. In that first game, the Unstoppable Hoopsters defeated the original BAMF lineup of Matt, Ryan, and Harlan. The Hoopsters thought they had momentum, a dynasty, and possibly a founding myth. BAMF had other ideas.
What began as one driveway basketball game quickly became a running best-of-seven rivalry, a group text institution, and a neighborhood sports organization presented with far more seriousness than the circumstances require.

Diamond Division Begins
A text from Ryan R. created the spinoff.
The Diamond Division began when Ryan R. texted the Dad Bods about playing softball. From that message, a spinoff was born. Basketball remains the primary battleground, but softball gave the league a second stage, a new identity, and another way for the rivalry to become unnecessarily official.
The first recorded Diamond Division game ended in a BAMF victory over the Hoopsters’ softball identity, the Unstoppable Hitters. One game was enough to create standings, storylines, and the immediate belief that this too required a permanent place in the league archive.

The Dad Bod League Hall of Fame is currently under review by a highly biased committee. Future inductees may be recognized for legendary performances, iconic excuses, disputed calls, lifetime achievement, or simply doing something that gets repeated too many times in the group text.

Every nomination will be evaluated through memory, exaggeration, and available photo evidence.
