Series 1: The League Is Born, Then the Hoopsters Become Easily Stoppable
The Dad Bod League began late at night in Chad’s driveway, when a 3-on-3 basketball challenge accidentally became something much bigger. In Game 1, the Unstoppable Hoopsters dominated the original BAMF lineup of Matt, Ryan, and Harlan and briefly believed they had discovered a winning formula, a franchise identity, and possibly destiny itself.
That belief lasted about as long as most Dad Bod defensive rotations. BAMF responded by winning the next four games, turning the Unstoppable Hoopsters into the “Easily Stoppable” Hoopsters and taking the first best-of-seven series, 4-1. The Hoopsters had the origin story. BAMF had the answer.

Series 2: Hoopsters Add Reinforcements, BAMF Becomes a Buzzsaw
Series 2 brought more of the same, despite the Hoopsters attempting to outsmart BAMF with roster additions and adjustments. The plan looked good in theory. In reality, the Hoopsters ran into a BAMF buzzsaw powered by Harlan, Dan B., and Ryan.
Ryan briefly reversed the clock, shooting well from outside and grabbing boards like the height advantage had finally been properly activated. Harlan was excellent driving past an exhausted Hoopsters team, repeatedly turning tired closeouts into easy chances. Dan B. emerged as the all-around utility player, moving faster than expected, filling gaps, and generally looking like one of the few people who knew what he was doing.
BAMF was hunting a sweep, but the Hoopsters rose from the ashes in Game 4. With no subs and only Mark, Phil, and Jimmy available, the Hoopsters held on in a tight game, won, and forced a Game 5. The comeback did not change the series result, but it did give the Hoopsters enough evidence to keep talking.

Series 3: The Rivalry Resets, Then the Night Ends with a Thud
The third basketball series is currently even at 1-1 following the most recent game. BAMF still owns the series history, but the Hoopsters are clinging to the idea that the next chapter is where the narrative changes.
In the most recent matchup, the Unstoppable Hoopsters handled business in a 22-8 win over BAMF. Jimmy dropped dimes, Chad got cooking, Richie controlled the glass, and Mark brought the quickness, commentary, and co-captain energy. For one night, the Hoopsters looked less like a team trying to explain the past and more like a team trying to make the current series interesting.
The game, however, ended not with a buzzer, but with a thud, as Harlan crashed into a hoop on another court at the end of the third quarter, bringing the action to an unforgettable and deeply Dad Bod conclusion.
